About Me

My name is Darrell Long and I am an addict (Just Kidding). I am a search marketer. I currently reside in South Florida. That’s great ladies and Gentlemen; I wear flip flops and go to the beach year round (please no throwing tomatoes). Growing up my father was in the Army so we did a great deal of traveling. I lived in places such as North Carolina, Maryland, Alabama, and Germany.

Like many other tech in this world I got my start by becoming fascinated with computers. I started off building sites geared toward what I liked at the time, anime. One of the best anime of all time, Trigun was my favorite. Once I started learning how to build web sites it just grew into a passion of mine. I found it fascinating to create something from nothing, something that I could show the world.

Once I graduated from high school I decide to pursue web design and attend The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. From there I received a Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Media Design. While I was attending college I decided to try to get a job in the field to help introduce myself into the real world. I remember applying for that job as if it was yesterday. I ended up receiving an interview at a search marketing firm in Boca Raton, More Visibility. I was originally applied to become their webmaster but was informed they had an opening for a junior search engine optimization specialist. I ended up taking the job and working there for over two years. Under the giddiness of John Carcutt I discovered my true passion, Search Engine Optimization.

I have since left More Visibility and started my own Marketing Firm called Red Hand Studios. I really enjoy what I do and teaching others about how Search Engine Optimization can help them. I currently run monthly SEO meet ups in South Florida and write for their blog.
